What is GapScout AI?

GapScout AI is an AI-powered competitive intelligence platform that automatically researches, analyzes, and delivers actionable insights about your competitors. Our platform uses advanced AI to identify strategic gaps, track competitor moves, and help you make data-driven decisions to stay ahead of the competition.

How does GapScout AI work?

GapScout AI works in three simple steps: First, you add your competitors by entering their website URLs. Second, our AI automatically researches their online presence, analyzing their website structure, content, pricing, and positioning. Third, you receive comprehensive insights including SWOT analysis, pricing intelligence, gap analysis, and strategic recommendations—all generated by AI in minutes, not weeks.

How long does the analysis take?

Initial competitor research typically takes 2-5 minutes per competitor, depending on the size and complexity of their website. The AI analysis phase adds another 1-2 minutes. You'll have complete competitive intelligence on your dashboard within minutes of adding a competitor.

What information do I need to get started?

All you need is the website URL of your competitors. GapScout AI handles everything else automatically. You don't need to manually enter any competitor information, pricing data, or feature lists—our AI discovers and analyzes all of this for you.

Can I track my own business alongside competitors?

Yes! We recommend adding your own website as a "My Business" entry. This allows GapScout AI to perform gap analysis that compares your positioning, features, and messaging directly against your competitors, highlighting opportunities for differentiation.

What kind of insights does GapScout AI provide?

GapScout AI provides comprehensive competitive intelligence including: SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) for each competitor, pricing intelligence with tier comparisons, feature gap analysis showing where competitors excel or fall short, strategic positioning insights, hidden strategy inference, vulnerability assessments, sales battlecards, and market landscape reports.

How accurate is the AI analysis?

Our AI analysis is highly accurate because it's based on real data from competitor websites. However, like any analysis tool, results should be validated against your own market knowledge. We continuously improve our AI models based on user feedback and the latest research in competitive intelligence.

Can GapScout AI track pricing changes?

Yes! GapScout AI extracts and analyzes competitor pricing information, including tier structures, feature inclusions, and pricing strategies. When you run updated research, any changes in pricing are reflected in your dashboard, allowing you to stay informed about competitor pricing moves.

Does GapScout AI monitor social media?

GapScout AI automatically detects and links to competitor social media profiles including Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. While we don't perform deep social listening, we provide easy access to competitor social channels for your own monitoring.

What is a Sales Battlecard?

Sales Battlecards are one-page competitive reference guides that help your sales team win deals against specific competitors. GapScout AI automatically generates battlecards that include win themes, objection handling, competitive landmines (questions to plant doubt), feature comparisons, and pricing intelligence—all tailored to each competitor.

What is the Market Landscape Report?

The Market Landscape Report provides a bird's-eye view of your competitive environment. It maps all your tracked competitors on strategic axes, identifies market segments, highlights white space opportunities, and provides recommendations for strategic positioning.

Pricing & Plans

Is there a free plan?

Yes! GapScout AI offers a free tier that lets you track up to 3 competitors with full AI analysis capabilities. This is perfect for startups, solo founders, and anyone who wants to try competitive intelligence before committing to a paid plan.

What does the Pro plan include?

The Pro plan ($29/month) includes: up to 10 tracked competitors, unlimited AI analyses, priority processing, sales battlecard generation, market landscape reports, email alerts for competitor changes, and priority customer support.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes, you can change your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and you'll be prorated for the remaining billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Do you offer annual billing?

Yes! Annual billing is available at a 20% discount compared to monthly billing. Contact our sales team for custom enterprise pricing if you need to track more than 10 competitors.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment processor, Stripe. Enterprise customers can also pay via invoice.

Privacy & Security

Is my competitor data secure?

Absolutely. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Your competitor lists and analysis results are private to your account and never shared with other users or third parties. We follow industry best practices for data security.

Will my competitors know I'm researching them?

No. GapScout AI researches publicly available information from competitor websites, similar to how search engines index the web. Competitors have no way to know that you're using GapScout AI to analyze their public online presence.

What data do you collect about me?

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service: your email address for account access, payment information (processed securely by Stripe), and your competitor tracking preferences. We do not sell your personal data. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

How do you use AI in the analysis?

We use advanced language models (including OpenAI's GPT-4) to analyze competitor content and generate insights. Your competitor data is processed through these models to produce analysis, but is not used to train the AI models. All AI processing follows strict data handling practices.

Can I delete my data?

Yes, you have full control over your data. You can delete individual competitors, projects, or request complete account deletion at any time. When you delete data, it's permanently removed from our systems.

Technical Questions

What websites can GapScout AI analyze?

GapScout AI can analyze most publicly accessible websites. This includes company websites, SaaS platforms, e-commerce sites, and more. Some websites with aggressive bot protection or content behind login walls may have limited analysis capabilities.

How often should I refresh competitor research?

We recommend running fresh research on your competitors at least monthly, or whenever you suspect significant changes (new product launches, pricing updates, rebranding). The free plan includes unlimited manual refreshes, and Pro users get automated weekly monitoring.

Does GapScout AI work for non-English websites?

Yes! Our AI can analyze websites in multiple languages and provides insights in English. However, analysis quality is best for content in major world languages. If you need specific language support, please contact our team.

Can I export my analysis results?

Yes, Pro users can export competitor profiles, battlecards, and analysis results. We support PDF exports for sharing with your team, and CSV exports for data integration with other tools.

Do you have an API?

We're developing an API for enterprise customers who want to integrate competitive intelligence into their existing workflows. If you're interested in API access, please contact our sales team to join the early access program.

How can I get help if I'm stuck?

We offer multiple support channels: In-app help documentation, email support at support@gapscout.ai, and for Pro users, priority support with faster response times. We also have a growing library of guides and tutorials on our blog.

Do you offer onboarding or training?

Yes! All new users receive a guided onboarding experience within the app. Pro and Enterprise customers also have access to personalized onboarding sessions with our customer success team to ensure you get maximum value from the platform.

Can I suggest new features?

Absolutely! We love hearing from our users. You can submit feature requests via email or through the in-app feedback tool. Many of our most popular features came directly from user suggestions.
